We were appointed by Phoenix Special Contracts to provide specialist Post Tensioned designs for the creation 12,600m² development consisting of 329 build-to-rent apartments and 64 co-living units in the heart of Dublin’s Vibrant Docklands.
Due to planning requirements a good mix of penthouse apartments as well as 1,2,3 bed apartments where required within the development which consisted of two separate 10 & 11 storey structures enclosing an internal courtyard.
With the varied mix of apartments and building line step backs several transfer areas existed at levels seven and eight. Working closely with Cronin Sutton Consulting, who were acting as the project engineers, we designed stepped Post Tensioned slabs in lieu of transfer beams, which allowed for a more economic solutions whilst providing set down areas of minimal thickness (just 150mm thick in areas) to allow level access onto the terraces from the apartments.
