We were appointed by ClearTech Engineered Solutions to provide specialist post-tensioned design for the floor slabs and transfer structure for a new luxury apartment block on the grand canal at Hanover Quay, Dublin.
Due to planning requirements, a good mix of penthouse apartments as well as 1,2,3-bed apartments were required within the development which consisted of a U-shaped structure over seven floors with an enclosed courtyard.
With the varied mix of apartments, building line step backs, inset terraces and a heavy precast concrete façade, several transfer areas existed at different levels. The precast concrete façade hung from the edge of the post-tensioned concrete slabs and this required the design to account for tight deflection tolerances.
